Change from Take-off Attitude to Climbing Attitude

When the speed Vx is reached, the aerodynamic conditions are met for the aircraft to be progressively brought from the take-off attitude to the climb attitude.

Flap Retraction

Depending on the type of aircraft and the take-off procedure, the flaps are set according the AFM. If the additional lift is no longer required, the flaps can be retracted according to the following criteria:

  • The climb speed for the CLEAN CONFIGURATION is reached
  • All major obstacles have been passed
  • The climb attitude is stabilized

Flaps Retraction

FIRST TURN in Climb, Standard Procedure

If nothing is prescribed, the first turn is not initiated below 500 ft / AAL. The criteria for the first turn are:

  • According to the VISUAL APPROACH CHART / VAC
  • The terrain requires an adapted flightpath
  • Other local regulations (noise abatement procedures)
