Operational Preparation of the Flight
Chapter 2.1
Workload
The workload necessary for the operational preparation of a flight depends on:
- the type of airplane
- the type of flight foreseen as well as its conditions
During basic training, you will have the opportunity to prepare different flights.
Necessary information
One must obtain information on:
- The departure, arrival and alternate aerodromes
- the operational flight navigation plan, including the route calculations, flight altitude and fuel
- Weather conditions / METEO
- ▶︎ Actual weather conditions at aerodromes / METAR
- ▶︎ Forecasts at aerodromes / TAF
- ▶︎ General aviation forecasts / GAFOR
- Notifications to Airmen / NOTAM
- Charts of danger / restricted areas within Swiss airspace / DABS
