Attitude Changes

Chapter 19.7

Transitions

Changes in attitude are changes from one flight attitude to another. These Transitions are made according to a given procedure:

Transition from straight and level flight to climbing flight

Transitions

Changes in attitude are transitions from one flight attitude to another. These transitions are made according to a given system:

Transition from climbing flight to straight and level

Transitions

Changes in attitude are transitions from one flight attitude to another. These transitions are made according to a given system:

Transition from straight and level flight to descent

Transitions

Changes in attitude are transitions from one flight attitude to another. These transitions are made according to a given system:

Transition from descent to straight and level flight

Methodology for Attitude Corrections

Before initiating any corrections, read and memorise the instruments according to the LOOP.

On the basis of this, adopt a new reference attitude and / or readjust the power.

After stabilization, analyze the modified values of the flight performance indicators.

If other corrections are necessary, apply the same method.

Change of Power / Thrust and Configuration

Changes in power / thrust and / or configuration result in extra moments around the flight axis, which require attitude adjustments and subsequent trim after the stabilization of the new attitude.

Changes in power / thrust and / or configuration should be compensated simultaneously by adopting a new reference attitude.
