Objectives

To know the exact names of the different segments within the aerodrome circuit

To be able to name and report on a real circuit each particular segment of a standard circuit

The Standard Circuit

The standard circuit is the path with an ideal geometric shape traveled by an airplane. Each segment and each point is determined by:

• Position
  

• Length

• Height above the aerodrome reference point (AAL)

• Distance from the runway or reference points to the landing surface

Compare the standard circuit with that of your training aerodrome. Look for the elements discussed at your aerodrome.
