Missed Approach Procedure

You must execute a Go Around immediately if:

  • it is too high or cannot be stabilized
  • the separation to the previous aircraft becomes too small
  • there are still uncertainties about its continuation
  • if ordered by air traffic controllers

Case 1: Begining the flare too high (GATE too high)

Case 2: Beginning the flare too low (GATE too low)

Case 3: Excessive Correction of the Pitch Control

Go Around High

The go-around is initiated before the flare process begins. Engine power has not been reduced yet.

Go Around Low

The go-around is initiated after the GATE. The aircraft is either in the process of completing the flare, or in the landing phase, or has already touched down.

CLIMB CONFIGURATION after the GO AROUND

Procedures and checks after the GO AROUND, such as the full retraction of the flaps and the switching off of the BOOSTER PUMP, are standard procedures and checks after the TAKE OFF according of Chapter 12.
